Company Description:

Wescor Contracting Ltd. works on commercial, industrial, tenant improvement, and custom residential projects involving wall and ceiling systems and related construction activities. The company requires construction trades helpers to support crews by preparing worksites, moving materials, maintaining tools and equipment, and assisting skilled tradespersons with general construction tasks.

Wescor Contracting Ltd. is seeking Construction Trades Helpers to support wall and ceiling installation crews on active construction projects. This is a general helper position intended for workers who assist skilled tradespersons and perform labouring duties on construction sites. The role focuses on site preparation, material handling, cleanup, tool setup, and other support functions. It does not require the worker to independently perform trade work reserved for qualified installers or apprentices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

· Load, unload, move, sort, and stage construction materials, tools, and equipment at the job site

· Assist skilled tradespersons and crew leads with general labour tasks during wall and ceiling system installations

· Prepare and clean up work areas before, during, and after construction activities

· Remove rubble, debris, scrap material, and other waste from work sites using proper disposal procedures

· Set up and take down ladders, work platforms, barriers, and other site equipment as directed

· Support surface preparation and basic site readiness work under supervision

· Hold, pass, and organize materials and tools for installers to help maintain workflow

·  Assist with basic measuring, marking, and layout support under close direction

·  Help transport drywall sheets, studs, insulation, ceiling components, and related materials safely around the site

·  Clean, maintain, and store hand tools, power tools, and equipment in good working order

·  Follow workplace safety procedures, wear personal protective equipment, and report hazards to supervisors

·  Perform other general construction labour duties as assigned in support of project completion

 

 

Position Requirements:

· Completion of secondary school is an asset.

· 1 to 2 years of related construction or drywall experience is an asset. Candidates with more experience may be considered at a higher wage within the posted range.

·  Ability to perform physically demanding work in a construction environment.

·  Ability to follow directions and work safely as part of a crew.

·  On-site training will be provided.
