Overview

We are seeking a Purchasing Agent to manage purchasing operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supplier coordination, cost control, and ensuring timely delivery of materials critical to operations.

Address: 6 York Road, Brantford, ON N3T 5Y6 (On site work). Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Pay: $36.50 hourly / 30 to 40 hours per week

Permanent employment; Full time

Morning, Day, Evening, Shift, Flexible hours

Starts as soon as possible: 1 vacancy

Languages: Written and Spoken English: Advanced

Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years

Work setting: Manufacture

Responsibilities:

Procurement & Sourcing

•          Purchase equipment, materials, and services

•          Evaluate requirements and develop specifications

•          Negotiate with suppliers and review quotations

•          Award contracts and define terms

Operations & Inventory

•          Prepare and manage purchase orders

•          Monitor delivery schedules and follow up on delays

•          Maintain inventory and order supplies

Vendor Management

•          Build and maintain supplier relationships

•          Resolve issues with suppliers and internal teams

Administration & Compliance

•          Process invoices and verify receipts

•          Support internal audits and record management

Experience and specialization

Must haves:

* 2+ years of hands-on procurement experience, including supplier negotiation and purchase order management

* Familiarity with ERP systems and supply chain processes

* Strong negotiation and supplier communication skills

* Valid driver’s license and vehicle

* Industrial or manufacturing experience

Assets:

* Knowledge of scales or technical equipment

* Familiarity with CUSMA / cross-border trade

* Measurement Canada certification is an Asset
