Terms of employment: Permanent employment, Full time 35 to 40 hours / week

Prepare, cook, and present authentic South Indian dishes, including:
Plain dosa, masala dosa, rava dosa, paper dosa, uttapam
Idli, medu vada, vadai varieties
Sambhar, rasam, kootu, poriyal, avial, and regional curries
South Indian chutneys (coconut, tomato, mint, peanut, etc.)
Prepare dosa batter using traditional fermentation techniques
Follow authentic South Indian food preparation methods and recipes
Plan daily food production and assist with menu consistency
Ensure proper seasoning and spice usage specific to South Indian cuisine
Maintain food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards as per WorkSafeBC and local health regulations
Monitor ingredient levels and report inventory needs
Train junior kitchen staff on South Indian cooking methods if required
Ensure timely preparation during peak service hours
Follow employer policies, food safety laws, and workplace standards
Experience and Specialization:
Proven experience preparing traditional South Indian cuisine

Strong knowledge of South Indian spices, batters, and fermentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced kitchen
Manual dexterity for dosa making and South Indian cooking techniques
Time management and attention to detail

Work setting: Restaurant
