Overview
The Oren Household is looking for a caring, reliable, and experienced child caregiver to provide full-time care for children in a private household in Maple, Ontario.
The caregiver will be responsible for supervising and caring for children, maintaining a safe and healthy environment in the home, preparing and serving nutritious meals, organizing age-appropriate activities, and supporting the children’s daily routines and emotional well-being.
Optional live-in accommodation is available at no cost to the worker. Live-in accommodation is not a condition of employment.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and care for children in the employer’s residence
Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children
Bathe, dress, and assist children with daily routines
Organize games, outings, and age-appropriate activities
Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
Tend to the emotional well-being of the children
Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
Take children to and from school, appointments, and activities, if required
Help children with homework, if required
Keep records of daily activities and health information, if required
Perform light housekeeping duties related to the children, such as tidying play areas, children’s laundry, and meal clean-up
Assume full responsibility for the household in the absence of the parents
Requirements:
Secondary school education or equivalent experience
1 year to less than 2 years of childcare experience
Ability to communicate in English
Reliable, patient, organized, honest, and responsible
Good judgement and excellent oral communication skills
Criminal record check may be required
References may be requested
First Aid/CPR is an asset
Wages: $21.00–$25.00/hour (30hr/wk)
