Overview

We are seeking a reliable, experienced and compassionate caregiver to provide full-time care for an elderly woman (age 86) with a neuro-degenerative condition, with mobility limitations, cognitive and speech impairments.

The client is wheelchair-bound and requires assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs) in a home setting.

Job Details
– Full-time position (40 hours per week)
– Work location: Vancouver, BC
– Live-in arrangement available

Requirements
– Minimum 2–5 years of senior caregiving experience
– Experience supporting individuals with similar presentation:
* stroke, Parkinsonism, dementia and similar conditions
* moderate to severe mobility and communication challenges
* Mild to moderate cognitive impairment
– Ability to safely assist with lifting and transfers
– Physically capable of supporting a high-dependency client
– First Aid certification (asset)
– References required

Job Responsibilities
– Assist with safe transfers and mobility support (equipment provided)
– Provide full personal care: feeding, dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming
– Provide dementia-informed care and supervision
– Administration and management of medication
– Perform light to moderate housekeeping tasks:
– meal preparation & grocery pick up
– cleaning and laundry
– Accompany client to appointments
– Provide companionship and social support

Compensation & Benefits
– $25.00/hour (based on experience)
