We are seeking friendly and dependable individuals to join our team as Cashiers. In this role, you will help ensure a smooth checkout experience for customers while contributing to the overall efficiency of store operations, working in a dynamic retail environment and interacting with customers.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process transactions using cash registers or sale systems.
  • Handle various payment methods, including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards.
  • Scan items and calculate total payments for goods or services.
  • Receive payments and ensure they align with total sales, reconciling any discrepancies.
  • Greet customers, provide assistance, and ensure a positive shopping experience.
  • Promote additional products or services to customers to enhance sales.
  • Wrap or place merchandise in bags.
  • Weigh and price produce or bulk items.
  • Reconcile total payments at the end of a shift with sales records.
  • Stock shelves, clean counter areas, and ensure the workspace is organized.
  • Verify the age of customers when selling age-restricted items.
  • Monitor entrances and exits, requesting proof of payment when necessary to prevent theft.
  • Participate in store promotions and activities to boost sales and customer engagement.

Employment requirements:

  • Previous experience not required; on-the-job training provided.
  • Perform basic calculations and operate cash registers or other payment systems.
  • Collaboration and working effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Adaptability to changing conditions and customer demands.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and procedures.
  • Availability to work morning, daytime and evening shifts 7 days a week.
