Position Info:

·         Position: Early Childhood Educator Assistant
·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent
·         Wage: $20.00~$22.00/hour (depending on experience)
·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week
·         Number of Positions:  2
·         Work Location: 103-3200 Westwood Street, Port Coquitlam, BC V3C 6C7

Job Duties:

·         Support early childhood educators in implementing programs that promote children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
·         Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs, and preparing crafts
·         Assist with cooking and housekeeping tasks, and maintain equipment in a daycare centre
·         Prepare snacks and set up rooms for lunch and rest periods
·         Attend staff meetings to share the progress and problems of children
·         Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioural problems and prepare reports for parents, guardians or supervisor
·         Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
·         May order necessary supplies and equipment for craft programs

 

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 1~2 years of experience in childcare is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Certificate: First Aid Certificate, CPR Certificate, and E.C.E.A. Certificate
