As a Child and Youth Worker at COGNITIA, you will play a vital role in supporting children and youth in achieving their full potential. You will work closely with individuals and their families, employing evidence-based strategies and a person-centered approach to promote skill development, independence, and overall well-being.

Job Description

1. Provide one-on-one and group support to children and youth with autism and other developmental disabilities.

2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including behavior analysts, therapists, and educators, to develop and implement individualized intervention plans.

3. Utilize evidence based techniques and strategies to address challenging behaviors and support skill acquisition.

4. Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes social interaction, communication, and sensory regulation.

5. Assist individuals in developing and enhancing daily living skills, communication skills, and self-help skills.

6. Document progress, collect data, and maintain accurate records to inform treatment plans and adjustments.

7. Provide emotional support and guidance to families, offering resources and strategies to strengthen their ability to support their child’s development.

8. Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices and emerging research in the field of autism.

Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Psychology, Health, Special Education, Child and Youth Care, etc.) or equivalent experience.
2. Experience working with children and youth
3. Knowledge of autism spectrum disorders, behavior management techniques, and evidence-based interventions.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
5. Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to working with individuals and their families.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to various situations.
