Overview
Looking for an English-speaking in-home caregiver to care for an elderly female. Successful candidate must have 2-3 experience as a caregiver.
Work setting: In-home. Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis.
Tasks include:
Administer bedside and personal care
Administer medications
Assist clients with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene
Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk
Feed or assist in feeding
Launder clothing and household linens
Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
Provide companionship
Provide personal care
Shop for food and household supplies
Prepare and serve nutritious meals
Personal suitability: Punctual, Dependable, Efficient interpersonal skills, Excellent oral communication, Judgement, Organized. Reliable, Patient, Honest.
Requires a combination and sitting, standing, walking, bending and crouching.
Successful candidate will have experience in and be able to perform the following tasks:
Administer medications, Administer bedside and personal care, Assist in regular exercise, e.g., walk, Provide personal care, Provide companionship, Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties, Assist with bathing and other aspects of personal hygiene, Prepare and serve nutritious meals, as described in greater detail below.
1. Personal Care Assistance: Helping with daily personal tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting to ensure good hygiene and personal care.
2. Meal Preparation: Planning, preparing, and taking into consideration any dietary restrictions or preferences to ensure proper nutrition.
3. Medication Management: Assisting with the administration of medications as prescribed, including reminders to take medications, helping with opening medication containers, and observing response to medication.
4. Mobility Assistance: Aiding with mobility challenges, including help with walking, transferring from bed to chair, and possibly providing assistance with exercises or physical therapy routines.
5. Housekeeping and Laundry: Performing light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, doing the laundry, and maintaining a safe and hygienic living environment.
6. Companionship and Emotional Support: Offering social interaction and companionship, including conversation, reading, and engaging in recreational activities to promote emotional well-being.
7. Health Monitoring: Observing and reporting any changes in condition or behavior to family members or healthcare professionals, which may include monitoring vital signs or pain levels.
8. Errands and Appointments: Assisting with errands such as grocery shopping or picking up prescriptions, as well as transporting or accompanying to appointments and social outings.
