Wage: $24.39 Hourly
Relocation: Transportation costs covered by the employer
Benefits: One meal per working day in the staff cafeteria, dry cleaning for your uniform (some exceptions apply) and 50% discount in our food & beverage outlets (exceptions may apply), and will be provided accommodation based on double occupancy during your contract period. You will be responsible for paying any personal income tax arising from these benefits.

The wage at the time of the offer is $24.39. The wage is subject to an increase to $27.87 after completing 50 shifts.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Assist cook with daily preparation menu items
• Wash and chop vegetables, clean seafood, and prepare other ingredients for cooking
• General garbage removal and recycling
• Follow safety standards for storing, handling, and preparing food
• Maintaining a clean work environment and ensure the kitchen meets sanitation standards
* All duties will be performed in accordance with the Fairmont Empress’ commitment to luxury service standards

Employment Qualifications and Requirements:
• Completion of secondary school
• Previous experience is an asset
• Food Safety Certificate, or willingness to obtain before the employment start date
• Physically capable of: Continuous standing for extended periods of time, frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50lbs, working in hot and cold station environments

Your Skills Include:
• Be capable of taking direction
• Willingness to work collaboratively with chefs, cooks, and other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service.
• Attention to detail when following recipes, measuring ingredients, and ensuring food quality and presentation
