Company Profile:
The Grain Growers of Canada are seeking an experienced and talented individual to join our team in Ottawa to fill the role of Communications Manager. The individual will ideally have a background in communications and will have held a similar role at an association.

As the national voice for Canada’s grain farmers, Grain Growers of Canada (GGC) represents over 65,000 producers through our 14 national, provincial, and regional grower groups. Our members are trade oriented, sustainable, and innovative. As a farmer-driven association for the grains industry, GGC advocates for federal policy that supports the competitiveness and profitability of grain growers across Canada.

Job Description and Responsibilities:
• Lead GGC’s external communications through press releases, opinion editorials, interviews, press conferences etc.
• Coordinate GGC’s internal communications through newsletters, e-blasts etc.
• Manage social media accounts on Twitter and LinkedIn through organic engagement and monthly calendars
• Coordinate marketing and advertising campaigns
• Organize and coordinate GGC’s upcoming podcast
• Contribute to member and stakeholder publications
• Build relationships with trade and traditional media outlets
• Liaise with the Executive Director on various communications projects

Employment requirements:
• Holds a degree from a post-secondary institution
• Experience in communications, ideally in the agriculture/association space is preferred
• Experience working at an association
• Minimum of 1 to 3 years experience required

• Reliable, punctual and efficient
• Available to work occasionally outside normal working hours

• Willingness to travel
• Graphic design and web design skills will be considered assets
• Experience in agriculture
