Greater Vancouver Zoo is looking for Zoo Animal Attendant in Aldergrove, BC location. The details are as follows:

Duration of Job: Full time, Permanent

Main duties

·      Prepare and distribute appropriate diets to animals according to established feeding schedules and nutritional guidelines.

·      Clean, sanitize, and maintain animal enclosures, cages, barns, pens, and surrounding areas to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.

·      Groom animals as required, including bathing, brushing, clipping, and general coat care.

·      Assist veterinarians and animal health technologists with routine health procedures, including examinations, vaccinations, and treatments.

·      Support breeding programs by assisting with the handling, care, and nurturing of animals, including newborn and young animals.

·      Observe, monitor, and accurately document animal behaviour, appetite, and overall condition; report any concerns to supervisors or veterinary staff.

·      Assist with animal restraint and handling during medical procedures or habitat transfers, following established safety protocols.

·      Participate in animal training and enrichment activities, including conditioning animals to respond to commands and behavioural cues to support husbandry and welfare practices.

·      Ensure compliance with zoo safety standards, animal welfare regulations, and workplace health and safety procedures.

Employment requirements
Completion of secondary school is required.
1+ relevant experience is required.
