Position Info:

·         Position: Early Childhood Educator Assistant

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $20.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  1

·         Work Location: F120 805 Boyd Street, New Westminster, BC V3M 5X2

Job Duties:

·         Support early childhood educators in implementing childcare programs that nurture the physical, mental, emotional, and social growth of children

·         Take the lead in activities such as storytelling, reading, teaching songs, and organizing visits to local points of interest for children

·         Participate in staff meetings to discuss the progress and challenges of children

·         Provide opportunities for creative expression through art, dramatic play, music, and physical activities

·         Engage children in various activities, including storytelling, teaching songs, and facilitating craft projects

·         Teach children to develop proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits

·         Assist early childhood educators or supervisors in maintaining records and notes

·         Prepare snacks and arrange rooms or furniture for lunch and rest periods

·         Observe children for potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents, guardians, or supervisors

·         Manage daycare equipment and contribute to cleaning and cooking duties

·         Plan an environment that safeguards the health, security, and overall well-being of children.

·         Demonstrate knowledge of licensing regulations

·         Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers involved in working with children

·         Assess the abilities, interests, and needs of children, discussing progress or challenges with parents and other staff members

 

Job requirements:

·         Experience: 1~7 months of experience in childcare is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required

·         Certificate: First Aid Certificate & CPR Certificate and E.C.E.A Certificate(ECE level 1)

·         Secrurity and Safety: Criminal record check and medical exam are required

·         Personal Suitability: Reliability and team playing performance is required

·         Language: English
