Overview

Position Info:

·         Position: Chef

·         Terms of employment: Full-time, Permanent

·         Wage: $33.00-$37.00/hour (depending on experience)

·         Working Hours: 30-40 hours/week

·         Number of Positions:  2

·         Work Location: 208 East Island Highway, Parksville, BC V9P 2H7

Benefits:

·         4% vacation pay

Job Duties:

·         Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and quality standards

·         Develop menu plans and ensure all food products meet established quality and consistency standards

·         Supervise activities of cooks and kitchen workers

·         Supervise and guide kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and plating of menu items to ensure consistency and presentation standards

·         Evaluate and estimate food service operating costs and staffing needs for effective cost control

·         Keep records of food costs, consumption, sales, and inventory

·         Coordinate the purchase, maintenance, and repair of kitchen equipment to ensure smooth daily operations

·         Recruit, onboard, and train kitchen staff to maintain a skilled and efficient team

Job requirements:

·         Language: English

·         Experience: 2-3 years of commercial cooking experience is required

·         Education: Completion of secondary school is required
