At Little Hands at Play (https://littlehandsatplay.com) we are seeking a lead RECE who will be responsible for teaching in a classroom through the Ministry of Education and Public Health requirements.

Teaching in and managing a classroom through positive and engaging strategies. (must love love children)

Reviewing and implementing programming to ensure that the centre meets all the requirements of licensing from the Ministry of Education including academic and operational requirements. Support children with emotional, physical, or behavioural problems and help develop their social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills. Assisting in the building of a strong relationship with parents and the community.

Detailed Job Description is given below:

•              Develop and implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children

•              Engage children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts

•              Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits

•              Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings

•              Knowledge of licensing regulations

•              Assess the abilities, interests and needs of children and discuss progress or problems with parents and other staff members

•              Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children

•              Plan and organize activities for school-age children in child-care programs before and after regular school hours

•              Set-up buffets

Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses

·         Member of the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE)

·         Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate

·         First Aid Certificate

·         CPR Certificate

 

Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years’ experience in the licensed childcare field

Level of Education

·         College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years and Early childhood education and teaching

Language: English

Security and safety

Provide the following documents:
