Job Title: Freight Truck Driver

NOC Code: 7511 – Transport Truck Driver

Offered Wage: 28.00 ($/hour)

Job type: Permanent, Full Time

Number of Positions: Multiple vacancies

Work Location: Based in Edmonton with possible travel throughout Alberta

Start Date: starts as soon as possible

 

Job Duties:

·         Driving, fueling, and maintaining a clean truck.

·         Load and unload cargo using Super B, Dry Vans, Flat Deck, Step Deck, Log Haul and Equipment Mobilization trailers.

·         Rolling and unrolling tarps at load facilities

·         Text load information to dispatch

·         Stay in contact with dispatch throughout shift

·         Complete a daily truck log on paper and/or electronic platforms

·         Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately

·         Perform pre-trip, enroute and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle and trailer and

report any problems or damage to management

·         Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and policies

·         Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption

·         Perform chain up and down as required

·         Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo

 

Required Education / Skills / Qualifications:

·         Class 1 (or equivalent international) driver’s license in good standing or ability to obtain one in Alberta

·         Physically fit and able to chain up, strap and secure loads

·         Must be able to drive a manual transmission

·        2 years to less than 3 years of commercial driving experience

·         Ability to complete electronic logs and trucking apps by phone

·         No serious tickets or accidents in last 5 years

·         Must be able to pass drug and alcohol screening

·         No DWI/DUI in last 10 years

·         Oilfield Tickets are an asset

·         Experience with Super B’s is an asset

·         Valid First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Aware and CSO certificates an asset
