Title of position: Cement Finisher / Epoxy Application
Duties
Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete.
Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float.
Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete.
Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete.
Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces.
Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures.
Prepare the concrete and other substrate by steel shot blasting, diamond grinding, sanding, etc., to receive topping materials.
Apply epoxy, polyurethane, MMA and other protective polymer flooring and coating materials over horizontal, vertical and overhead concrete, drywall and other surfaces.
Apply specified primers to the flooring substrate.
Mix cement or epoxy mortars and self leveling compounds to specification requirements.
Install mixed mortars and self leveling compounds in accordance with specifications and manufacturer’s recommendations.
Cleanup tools, equipment, and job-site environment.
Apply all personal and site safety procedures.
Major work area: New construction, renovation, repairs of concrete floors and walls in public facilities (hospitals, recreational centers, restaurants, etc), industrial facilities (food processing, pharmaceutical, chemical, etc) and residential facilities.
Terms of employment: Permanent, Overtime, Day, Night
Language of work: basic English
Wages: $37.00 per hour for 40 hours per week, with potential of overtime
