Job Description
This position is available in a private home environment offering child care services for two kids of ages 4 and 8. The household is dedicated to creating a safe and nurturing environment for children, promoting positive growth and development. Located in the welcoming community of Surrey, British Columbia, our family values reliability, compassion, and professionalism in their caregiver.
Pay: $20 an hour
Hours: 30 to 35 hours per week
Job type: Permanent, Full-time
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
Experience: 1 to less than 7 months
Work setting: Employer’s home
Certification: CPR and First Aid certificate, Responsible Adult Certification, Food Safe Level 1
Duties:
* Change diapers
* Follow parents’ lead with toilet training
* Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
* Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
* Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
* Wash, iron and press clothing and household linens
* Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
* Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents
* Instruct children in personal hygiene and social development
* Keep records of daily activities and health information regarding children
* Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
* Organize, activities such as games and outings for children
* Prepare and serve nutritious meals
* Prepare infants and children for rest periods
* Supervise and care for children
* Tend to emotional well-being of children
* Help children with homework
* Cook
Skills:
* Skills in organizing creative and educational activities, tailored to the child’s interests.
* Ability to prepare healthy meals and snacks, and ensure children’s dietary needs are met.
* Experience working with children is an asset.
* Punjabi speaking is an asset to effectively communicate with children and family.
