Job Description

• Develop and carry out programs that promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
• Lead children in activities by telling stories, teaching songs and preparing crafts.
• Provide children with opportunities to express creativity through arts, music and physical activity.
• Maintain a healthy and secure environment to protect the well-being of the children.
• Assess children’s abilities, needs, and behavioural problems, and discuss progress or problems with parents.
• Guide and assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children.
• Organize activities for programs before and after regular school hours as needed.
• Coordinate activities of other early childhood educators and early childhood educator assistants when needed.

Requirement for candidate

·        Completion of a 2-year college program in early childhood education

·        2-year Early Childhood Educator experience is preferred.

· Licensing in BC Early Childhood Educator Certificate

·        No Criminal Record (Criminal record will be checked thoroughly)
