Specific Skills

• Responsible for the supervision, safety and wellbeing of the children
• Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child by using developmentally appropriate teaching and child behavior techniques
• Early childhood educator’s cultivator caring, authentic relationships and foster a sense of belonging for children, families and educators
• Planning, preparing and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activates in response to the children’s emerging interests and skill.
• Caring for the children and in the overall operation of the program and centre
• Provide environments and experiences that engage children in active and creative
• Maintain and records relevant information on each child’s progress on learning, arts and physical activities
• Assist children in the development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits.
• Maintains regular and open communication with program team members and all other co-workers and attend staff meetings
• Establishes and maintains regular professional communication with parents
• Ensures the program operates at all times in compliance with all child care licensing standards
• Maintaining a safe and healthy work environment as per provincial standard
• Performs other Early Child Educators Assistant duties as may be assigned from time to time.
