Job Description:

– Assist with activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers
– Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff
– May assist with planning menus and requisition food and kitchen supplies
– May prepare and cook meals or specialty foods
– Help in the preparation and design of all food menus
– Ensure that the kitchen operates in a timely way that meets our quality standards
– Resourcefully help solve any issues that arise and seize control of any problematic situation
– Work together with kitchen staff, establish working procedures
– Inform Chef to order supplies to stock inventory appropriately if required
– Comply with and enforce sanitation regulations and safety standards
– Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Tasks:
• Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods,
• Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment,
• Clean kitchen and work areas

Work conditions and physical capabilities:
• Attention to detail, Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Repetitive tasks, Standing for extended periods, Work under pressure

Experience:

• 1 year to less than 2 years experience commercial kitchen
